Horizon was founded
as a home business in 1991 by long time coastal
residence Scott and Edie Stovall. As the parents of
two then small children, we were a two person, part
time enterprise who did it all, cleaning, book
keeping, reservations and maintenance and each
worked another job. Originally we managed both
residential and short term rentals. When the
business grew to be too large to operate out of our
bedroom, we moved to a one room office (with no
windows) downstairs from Kenny's IGA grocery store.
Marge Daugherty, current Horizon manager, came on
board with us in 1992 as the book keeper. We did
it all, accounting, reservations and scheduling,
all by hand!
Lots of hard
work, plenty of trial and error and
many wonderful relationships later we grew into the
largest vacation rental management company on the
central coast. In our current office on the scenic
D river in Lincoln City since 1995 we now focus only
on short term rental management. We currently
operate with a staff of about 35 in reservations,
maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, accounting and
management. Several employees in all departments
have been with us for ten years or longer.
We are committed to
providing the best possible vacation experience we
can for our guests. We want to share our love of
the Oregon Coast with visitors and provide a custom
fit to YOUR home for their own memory making in this
beautiful area we cherish. Our belief is that
repeat guests, well treated and charged fairly, are
the key to our (and your!) success.
We are committed to
providing the highest quality service to our home
owners that we can. We value honesty, communication
and relationships. We will not try to sell you a
lot of pie in the sky to get your account if we
don't truly feel your home is a good fit for our
program. We WILL promise you timely accounting,
professional accountability and honesty backed by
years of being in business. Our staff is always
available to answer any questions as best we can and
we will deal with each and every owner concern as it
arises on an individual basis until resolved. Many
of our owner accounts have been in our program since
the very beginning.
We are committed to
providing a decent wage to our employees and
providing them with a respectful working
environment. We run a legitimate payroll. We do not
try to get people to work "under the table" or try
to penalize their wages or take advantage of
anyone's circumstances that are less than ours. We
carry appropriate insurance to provide assistance to
our employees as needed and provide health
insurance, raises, vacation and sick time to our
associates.
